After last year’s record-breaking season, the wow gold http://www.cheapergold.co.uk girls from Ultimate Gymnastics of Gurnee were relishing the opportunity to compete for this year’s state titles. The Level 6, 9 and 10 teams started off the state series and they did not disappoint.

Competing in Bourbonnais, the Level 6 girls began the weekend off in style. Their youngest member, Sonte Turnage, who has had an outstanding season, brought home an all-around state champion title in the Child A age group.

It was consistency across all four events that paid off for the Lindenhurst native. She placed second on floor and beam, third on vault and fourth on bars, but when you added it all up, she took gold with an all-around score of 37.725.

The Level 6 girls had more to celebrate when Leah Medenwaldt scored a 9.70 on vault in the Junior A age group. That first-place score also helped her claim a silver medal in the all-around.

In the Senior D age group, Lake Forest’s Belle Smith came away with two bronze medals, one on floor exercise and in the all-around. And the Junior section of the Level 6 team placed second in state.

Next up were the Level 9 girls, and they continued the winning trend. Anna Brandmeier, competing in the Senior C age group, wowed the crowd with not one, but two state titles. Anna, who was part of this year’s IHSA State winning Carmel Catholic gymnastics team, won gold on bars (9.35$) and floor exercise (9.425 USD). She also placed third in the all-around.

In the same age group, Lake Forest’s Katherine wow gold http://www.only4wowgold.com Mckeon placed third on balance beam.

Competing in the Junior B age group, Ally Hoyer’s floor routine (9.725) could not be surpassed. She took state gold on this event and added bronze medals on vault (9.425) and in the all-around (37.75). Ally, from Grayslake, takes her place in the record books as the first Ultimate gymnast to win a state title four years in a row.

At Level 10, Lauren Feely, another Carmel Catholic gymnast, won state gold on vault with a full-twisting yurchenko that scored 9.65. She also placed third on balance beam (9.35) and added a bronze medal in the all-around (37.175) in the Junior B age group.

All members of the Level 9 and 10 teams achieved the qualifying score needed to progress to the regional meet, which will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, next month.

Ultimate’s head coach Shane Sanders was delighted with this start to the state series.

"I am so proud of how all our girls performed at the meet," he said. "Sonte is our first-ever Level 6 all-around state champion, Anna is our first Level 9 state bars champion and Lauren is our first Level 10 state champion on any event."

"This was a great start to what I know will be a very successful postseason for Ultimate Gymnastics. Many thanks to all the gymnasts, coaches and parents for all of their hard work and dedication."

Level 6

Child A: Sonte Turnage — Vault: 9.40 (3rd); Bars: 9.25 (4th); Beam: 9.475 (2nd); Floor: 9.60 (2nd); All-around: 37.725 (1st).

Child B: Ally Weihs — Vault: 8.675; Bars: 8.275; Beam: 8.90; Floor: 9.175; All-around: 35.025.

Child D: Emma Ramagnano — Vault: 9.30 (6th); Bars: 8.70 (8th); Beam: 8.425; Floor: 9.20 (8th); All-around: 35.625.

Junior A: Dana Hutter — Vault: 8.70; Bars: 8.375; Beam: 9.10; Floor: 8.85; All-around: 35.025.

Leah Medenwaldt — Vault: 9.70 (1st); Bars: 8.85 (9th); Beam: 9.50 (4th); Floor: 9.25 (5th); All-around: 37.30 (2nd).

Faye Tubman — Vault: 9.125; Bars: 9.05 (5th); Beam: 8.55; Floor: 9.15 (7th); All-around: 35.875.

Junior C: Brianna Hitchingham — Vault: 9.10; Bars: 8.925 (7th); Beam: 9.025 (9th); Floor: 8.225; All-around: 35.275.

Junior D: Kylie Miller — Vault: 9.35 (5th); Bars: 8.025; Beam: 9.20; Floor: 9.35 (4th); All-around: 35.925 (8th).

Senior C: Brenna Geier — Vault: 8.40; Bars: 8.475; Beam: 8.05; Floor: 7.95; All-around: 32.875.

Senior D: Belle Smith — Vault: 9.20 (6th); Bars: 8.70 (5th); Beam: 9.00 (6th); Floor: 9.10 (3rd); All-around: 36.00 (3rd).

The Level 6 team placed 9th in the Child section, 2nd in the Junior section and 9th as a Combined team.

Level 9

Junior A: Lauren Marshall — Vault: 9.25 (4th); Bars: 8.925; Beam: 8.925; Floor: 9.30 (5th); All-around: 36.40 (8th).

Junior B: Ally Hoyer — Vault: 9.425 (3rd); Bars: 9.25 (8th); Beam: 9.35 (6th); Floor: 9.725 (1st); All-around: 37.75 (3rd).

Senior A: Emily Basara — Vault: 9.225; Bars: 9.225; Beam: 8.975; Floor: 9.35 (4th); All-around: 36.775 (7th).

Senior B: Brittany Moccia — Vault: 9.025; Bars: 7.95; Beam: 8.80; Floor: 9.325 (5th); All-around: 35.10.

Level 9 girls took fifth place in the Senior Age Group Team Division and sixth place in the Combined Age Group Team Division.

Level 10

Junior B: Kylie Carlson — Vault: 9.025; Bars: 8.15; Beam: 8.35; Floor: 9.425; All-around: 34.95.

Lauren Feely — Vault: 9.65 (1st); Bars: 8.85; Beam: 9.35 (3rd); Floor: 9.325; All-around: 37.175 (3rd).

Senior C: Kelci Schulz — Vault: 9.10; Bars: scratch; Beam: scratch; Floor: 9.35 (4th).

Lauren, a sophomore at Carmel Catholic High School, pictured with her vault coach Steve Kams, is the Gurnee club’s first Level 10 State champion. Sonte, who competes for Ultimate Gymnastics of Gurnee, is the club’s first Level 6 all-around State champion.
